Journal of Mining & Safety Engineering is jointly sponsored by the China University of Mining and Technology and China Coal Industry Safety Science and Technology Society, and is included by American Engineering Index (EI). The journal was founded in 1984 and was initially known as Mine Pressure, and renamed Ground Pressure and Strata Control in 1990 and Journal of Mining & Safety Engineering in 2006.

The symposium on Mine Pressure Theory and Practice is hosted by the Journal of Mining & Safety Engineering and has achieved 21 successful sessions since 1981.

National Symposium on New Theory and Technology of Scientific Coal Mining

Hosted by the Mining Committee of China Coal Society and initially known as the Annual Meeting of Mining Committee of China Coal Society, the National Symposium on New Theory and Technology of Scientific Coal Mining (renamed in 2008) has achieved 40 successful sessions since 1981, mainly about the academic discussion on new theory and technology of coal mine.

Scientific Research Symposium of Open Pit Mining

Hosted by the Open Pit Mining Committee of the China Coal Society, the Scientific Research Symposium of Open Pit Mining has achieved 8 successful sessions since 2003.
