Exchange Meeting Scene

On the afternoon of April 11, 2024, the School of Mines held an online cooperation meeting with Dean Oleg I. Kazanin and department heads of the Mining Faculty at Saint Petersburg Mining University, Russia. The virtual conference took place in Room A509, attended by Zhenkang Zhang, Director of the University's International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Xuehong Quan, Director of the Exchange and Cooperation Office. From our School, participants included Dean Yanli Huang, Vice Dean Yong Yuan, Director Lei Zhang and Deputy Directors Xiaowei Feng and Yihui Wu of the International Affairs Office, along with faculty representatives. The meeting was chaired by Dean Huang.

During the exchange, Dean Yanli Huang welcomed the experts from Saint Petersburg Mining University. Dean Oleg I. Kazanin introduced his faculty's profile and the foundation for bilateral cooperation. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on joint talent cultivation in mining engineering, overseas internship programs for undergraduates, international research platform development, collaborative research projects, and international academic conferences. They reached consensus on cooperation and agreed to advance practical collaboration in these areas.

This meeting represents a significant initiative in deepening cooperation with world-renowned mining institutions. It creates favorable conditions for cultivating globally-minded mining professionals, promoting scientific research collaboration, and facilitating platform development. The exchange holds great importance for advancing mining technology innovation and enhancing the global influence of mining disciplines.
