On April 30, Professor Jamal Rostami, a renowned scholar from the Colorado School of Mines, was invited to visit the School of Mines and deliver a cutting-edge academic lecture titled "Mining on the Moon" to faculty and students. The lecture was hosted by Dean Yanli Huang. Faculty representatives, postdoctoral fellows, and student representatives attended the event.

Yanli Huang extended a warm welcome to Professor Rostami. He noted that the Colorado School of Mines, as a world-leading institution in the field of mining engineering, has maintained a long-standing and stable tradition of academic exchange with the School. He emphasized that Professor Rostami's visit provides a platform for dialogue between faculty and students and top international scholars, helping to broaden academic perspectives and stimulate innovative thinking among the School's faculty. Moving forward, the School will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Colorado School of Mines and other top international universities by inviting renowned international scholars for visits, advancing joint research and talent cultivation programs, and hosting (or co-hosting) high-level academic conferences. These efforts aim to continuously elevate the School's international standing and core academic influence, as well as to enhance the global reputation and discourse power of the mining engineering discipline.

Professor Rostami elaborated on the technical challenges and prospects of lunar mining, sharing innovative ideas and key technological pathways for extraterrestrial resource development. He presented an interdisciplinary frontier picture integrating mining engineering and aerospace engineering to the audience.

During the interactive session, attending faculty and students engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Rostami on related topics.
